The 3rd KL Insignia

It is unknown if 3rd KL previously ever had a logo of it's own (other than the BB logo, of course). Sometime late 2006, we decided to come up with a company insignia (means: emblem or logo).

A proposed copy was drawn up by Mr. Terence Tay, a former 3rd KL officer currently serving full time at BBHQ. The design was put in reserve while several other proposed designs were drawn up as well. In the end, the officers council adopted Terence's design, making a few adjustments, namely the colour from light blue to red.

The insignia's red triangle design is modeled after the YMCA's logo, as 3rd KL is sponsored by the YMCA in Kuala Lumpur. The triangle also suits the n0. 3 as it has three angels (tri), an excellent representation of the company's number. The BB emblem, obviously represents Hebrews 6:19 which states "..which hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and stedfast.."

It's futuristic looks represents the company's commitment and flexibility to changes in time and will continue to remain dedicated to the a Boys' well being.
A logo not only functions as a symbol for an organization, but also helps non-3rd KL members easily identify one of our Boys easily. An insignia also carries an amount of status and recognition among others, therefore, its not merely a logo but an item of respect and dignity. In the military every unit/company has it's own insignia, as well as the battalion, task force, all the way up the the country's battle of arms. It is only rightful that 3rd Kuala Lumpur Company, being a company of more than 50 years old, also has an insignia of its own. Therefore, we present you with the official insignia of the 3rd Kuala Lumpur Company of the Boys' Brigade in Malaysia.
